Born and raised in India, I was a confident yet cheeky child with dreams of becoming an artist. I faced inner child issues of neglect and grief after losing my father at a young age, which led to profound loneliness. Struggling with depression and self-hatred, I poured my energy into making others happy. In 2019, my health deteriorated due to vocal issues, migraines and sleep disorders, leading to a significant personal crisis. My journal became my therapist and confidant, helping me navigate my darkest times.
What seemed like an irreversible breakdown was actually a breakthrough. I started seeking answers in books, doodles, and journaling, leading to personal development and healing.
During this time, I explored journaling for productivity and self-growth, writing daily gratitude lists and stream-of-consciousness entries. In 2020, my young son and I wrote and illustrated “Know Your Unique Self,” our first book, as he developed juvenile rheumatoid arthritis during the pandemic. We encouraged readers to embrace self-confidence and view mistakes as integral to learning. This handcrafted book used creativity and intentional living as a healing practice. My speaking engagements and sessions garnered recognition during the pandemic, earning me several prestigious awards. Two years later, I fulfilled my childhood dream by moving to the UK to study for a Master’s in Creative Writing, a dream my younger son and I shared. Despite the challenges, this journey felt like a second dark night of the soul. I turned to poetry to navigate this intense growth, resulting in my debut poetry journal, “Reflections of Life.” These poems explore love, loss, hope, purpose, and self-discovery, offering a profound message of resilience and the pursuit of dreams.
Today, I continue my work by reading and writing poetry and stories, curating Reflective Vistas as a transformative force in empowerment and self-discovery. I collaborate with educational institutions and charities, establishing a centre for creativity and consciousness. My days are filled with creating videos, hosting journaling and law of attraction workshops, writing books, and enjoying community events with my husband, sons, friends, and clients.
